Gentle Giants in Danger

According to the IUCN Red List*, rhinos are amongst the most endangered animals of the world with only 25,000 remaining. These giantle giants are hunted for their horn, which hasn’t any scientifically proven effect, yet the black market prices top those of gold or cocaine. Primarily in Asia people believe that rhino horn (which is, in fact, the same material as a finger nail!) cures a hangover and helps against potency problems. That is so wrong! Yet those beautiful animals get hunted and murdered cruelly. How can we not see that our behaviour is against any sustainability thought and future generations will only have stories and tales and images to learn about these wonderful creatures. I can only hope that we will wake up in time.
